Lithium Ion Battery Recycling with Cleanlites
The lithium ion battery is changing the world we live in right before our eyes; Cars, phones, tablets, power tools, computers and more rely on the quick charging lithium ion battery. With such widespread use, and near 100% recyclability, recycling lithium ion batteries is a must do for enterprise and consumers nationwide. Our planet endures just as much damage in mining lithium as it does drilling for oil, so not capitalizing on lithium’s recyclability is flat out wasteful. This is where responsible recyclers like Cleanlites come in, we can ensure with absolute certainty your lithium waste is recycled and not in a landfill.

If you’re looking for a recycle by mail option for battery disposal, please view our sister company Lampmaster.
Landfill Policy
Battery recycling legal requirements vary from state to state, unfortunately. Americans dispose of over 3 billion batteries a year, so recycling all batteries is a challenge. This does not stop Cleanlites from working hard with our valued customers to reduce the amount of harmful heavy metals found in landfills here in the U.S. We’re very proud of our ability to divert harmful waste streams entirely from the landfill. Make sure you know your recycler before you send waste.
LI VS. LI-ION
There are many scientific differences between lithium ion and lithium batteries, but the main difference that can be easily understood is the lithium ion battery’s use of a ‘safety protection circuit’. This protection circuit is in place to enforce limits on maximum discharge and charge currents, while also monitoring cell temperature. – You learn something new every day!
