We were happy to be represented at the annual Midwest Sustainability Summit.  The event, organized by the Regional Sustainability Alliance known as Green Umbrella, brought together some of the brightest minds and important voices in the sustainability network not only in the Midwest Region, but across the United States.

Cleanlites has been a supporter of this event for the last few years and has been given the opportunity to exhibit our business and services alongside some of the other big names in the regional sustainability ecosystem.  This year’s event was centered around private sector sustainability and the best practices to reduce the carbon footprint of for-profit businesses without too heavily impacting the bottom line.

The Midwest Sustainability Summit is unique in that it brings together a very diverse group of private, public and nonprofit entities under one roof to discuss not only the big picture ideas but also the detailed goals and improvements we can all make to forge a more sustainable region and economy.  Directors from offices of sustainability as well as some of the largest corporate entities in the region were represented.

As it turns out waste reduction and redirection is a major part of cleaning up our economy and our cities.  Directors and CEOs from some of the regions’ largest companies worked in small plenary groups to discuss green tactics and sustainability improvements directed solely at directing the supply chain and waste streams to a zero waste reality.

Cleanlites has been working to integrate our recycling and sustainability practices into the supply chain and the private sector since we began in 1994.  We are continuing to partner up with suppliers, manufacturers, corporations, nonprofits and Governments to help our region and beyond reach ambitious goals of zero waste.

We left the event excited for future possibilities yet also focused on doing the most possible good for the environment as part of our business model.  We believe that, as a company, putting climate first is utterly important. Making sure that sustainability can also fit into our bottom line is the way we do business.
